About Jen Toomey

Hello, I’m Jen Toomey! My genuine love and caring for all animals, domestic or wild, and my appreciation for the beauty in nature led me to this chapter of my life. I have had several experiences with domestic animal care of all shapes and sizes, and I love to read, watch informational videos and educate myself by doing research on animal behaviors, characteristics, personalities and the way they communicate with each other and us! 

Since I started my own business in 2019, my mission has been to provide safe, stress-free, in-home care for your pet. Since we all have busy lives and can't be with our pets every hour of every day, I enjoy providing enrichment for them, while giving you complete peace of mind.

I was born and raised in Dickson City, PA. I moved to Virginia Beach, VA in my mid-20’s and earned an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University in Norfolk, VA. After working as a sous-chef at the top banquet catering and convention center in Virginia Beach for 11 years, I decided it was time to move back to NEPA to have a better quality of life and spend some much missed and very needed time with my family.

That decision opened many doors and created so much opportunity that I never imagined for myself! I also truly gained an appreciation for the amazing four seasons in NEPA. 

Moving back ended up being the best decision of my life. I am so happy to be back home with family and friends, and all my niece and nephew pups, kitties, goats and horses!! There are a lot of pets between my siblings and me, and each is loved and very much a part of my family!

I believe our pets get a sad and stressed when we can't be there. Taking them to a daycare or boarding facility may just make them feel scared, confused and even a somewhat abandoned. My in-home care offers pets the comfort of being in their own familiar environments with less anxiety, plus the benefit of not having to deal with strange places or the potential hazards of a multiple-pet care facility. Plus I will give them new adventures, undivided one-on-one attention, and lots of love just like my own family!

While safety is always number one, trust, dependability, open communication and awareness of surroundings are all my most valued priorities! Whether at your home, out on a walk, hike or next great adventure,  you can be sure your pet will be well cared for to the highest standard and together we’ll have the time of our “NewLife!”
